Just a normal day in Menton... except it wasn't for me!
After a year of nearly total isolation, either because of lock down or because I chose to for health reasons, last Saturday was my first glorious day of freedom! Finally vaccinated - a massive thank you to those brilliant scientists, I drove down the valley to Menton with my camera, somewhat tentative...had I forgotten how the camera worked!
So enjoy the day with me, glorious sunshine with Menton looking her absolute best. All sorts of dogs appeared: a beautiful lady dressed completely in white with her two little white dogs, there was a demonstration for action on climate change along with a demonstrating dog too. I met the only Stumpy-tailed Australian cattle dog in France and whilst walking around the square in front of the Cocteau Museum, there was a tap on the shoulder and it was an old friend, a fellow photographer along with other mutual friends visiting Menton from Marseille. Confess I was jumping up and down with the pleasure of seeing friends, face to face. It was as much as I could do to not hug them.

Love how this Samoyed is making sure he doesn't miss one word of the conversation:
This is the only Stumpy-Tailed Australian Cattle Dog in France, flown over with his Mama about 8 months ago - he's called Red and lives in Menton. Because he's not crazy about other dogs, he has to wear the muzzle when out walking:
I passed two of my photos on display at different places in Menton. I'd forgotten the outdoor exhibition was still on. A nice surprise - this image is in the shop:
And so goodbye...if you are not yet vaccinated, hope it happens for you soon. Love from Menton x

Oh my goodness, thank you so so much for sharing a day with you. I could visualise us walking the streets of Menton observing people and pets coming out of isolation and enjoying the open air and community. Stopping for a coffee and treat sharing the joy of living life. Wouldn’t that be a hoot my dearest Jilly. Enjoy your freedom, you’ve earned it ten times over, and bless those scientists for a vaccination to keep you safe🙏💕

Brilliant Jilly so so very happy your finally escaped your isolation XX I had a red cattle dog like this ladies his name was Bear however had to let him go to a farm as he was bred for hearding sheep and started to round people up and bite them on the bum Hahaha not funny really in the residential area however he was much happier as a working dog on the farm as he was meant to be. Big Love to you XO
